Web Site Design Information

Here are some other important things to consider for web sites, please read carefully. We may update this legal information from time to time so you should check this page periodically to ensure you are happy with any changes.

Web Site Changes or Corrections

Before your web site is finished you will have the opportunity to review it for accuracy. You can make one complete round of content fixes and edits, such as adding, editing or removing text or images as well as correcting any typos and errors.

Once your new site is 100% finished, we will always be available to make any necessary changes and updates that you may require. We pride ourselves on making your necessary web site changes and updates quickly (normally within 1 business day).

We also offer monthly maintenance packages as well as Content Management Systems (CMS) that will allow you to make changes to your web site yourself with no coding knowledge required. With a CMS you can easily add, edit or remove pages, text, images, etc.

Domain Name

We will attempt to secure the domain name you requested. However, it may already be registered and therefore unavailable. If your preferred domain name is not available, we will make other domain name suggestions that are available for you to choose from. If you already own your domain name, we will gladly configure the DNS to point to your web site’s new hosting - free of charge. If at anytime you want to transfer the domain name ownership to yourself or someone else, we can also assist you with that process. There are fees for transferring ownership of a domain name.

Only the primary domain name is included with all of our web site packages. In addition to your primary URL we can also purchase additional domain names for you for a yearly-fee per domain name. Price includes DNS or URL forwarding configuration.

30-Day Money-Back Guarantee

Our goal is for you to be 100% satisfied with your new web site and to finish it for you quickly and professionally. The 30-day money-back guarantee expires 30 calendar days from the date when payment is received. We will refund your money (minus a fee) anytime during that window if you are not 100% completely satisfied with your new web site.

Your Web Site’s Content

You need to provide us with the necessary content for your web site and to make sure you can legally publish it online. You acknowledge that you either own the copyright to, or have legally obtained the necessary permission to publish any content online that you have provided us and that The Rusty Pixel shall not be held liable for any copyright infringement. Content is classified as, but not limited to, text, images, videos, links, embeds, documents, keywords or anything else pertaining to your web site. No discounts will be given if you have already secured web site domain registration, hosting, design, information, content or anything else pertaining to your web site. The Rusty Pixel assumes no responsibility or liability for the content of your web site.

Yearly Renewal & Monthly Packages

Initial cost for your web site includes the yearly cost. The yearly cost covers everything you need to keep your web site online including, but not limited to, domain name registration, hosting (monthly storage and bandwidth), email addresses, licensing for design and code, web-rings reciprocal links inclusion, etc. Our monthly maintenance and monthly search engine optimization packages are paid in advance and for 3 months at a time.

We will notify/invoice you before your web site and any monthly package you have signed up for are set to expire. Both your web site and any monthly package can be canceled at anytime for any reason (no refunds given once the billing cycle has begun).

Other Important Information & Policies

Failure to make payments may result in your web site being taken offline for non-payment. A fee will be charged to put your web site back online once it has been taken offline for non-payment (in addition to any outstanding invoices).

All of our website packages include hosting and we have discounted rates and picing for web sites that are hosted with us. If your web site is or will be hosted elsewhere then you will not qualify for our discounted rates and pricing. We do not release the design, code, source files, license or any other elements relating to your site. Additional fees may apply if you go over your specified hosting storage space or monthly bandwidth allocation.

Domain registration begins the day your URL is registered. Web hosting begins the day your account is setup on our servers. Internet Explorer 6 (IE6) and below is not supported (IE6 has about a 0.1% USA market-share as of January 2014).

Your company name, project designs and links can be used in any of our marketing campaigns and provided as examples of our work to potential clients.  A design and development credit with our name and link to our web site can be placed in the bottom footer of your web site.

SEO & PPC Information

Here are some other important things to consider for web sites, please read carefully. We may update this legal information from time to time so you should check this page periodically to ensure you are happy with any changes.

Unethical SEO Techniques and Spamming

We do not engage in unethical SEO techniques or spamming methods to get your web site ranked higher on search engines. You should be aware that many companies utilize these dangerous SEO techniques and they should be avoided at all costs! While these techniques can be effective in the short term they tend to have long-lasting negative effects on your web sites ranking and placement on search engines (could lead to your web site being blacklisted on Google).

Search Engine Optimization Results

Getting your web site ranked high on search engines for specific search terms is not as simple as turning a light on. It can be a complicated and lengthy process that could take weeks or even months until you see results. No one can guarantee results or placement on Google or other search engines and anyone that does is lying to you.

All search engines (including Google) use complicated and secret algorisms to determine which web sites show up at the top of their organic search results. These algorisms are constantly being tweaked which is why hiring an experienced and knowledgeable SEO expert for monthly SEO service to your web site is so important. Your SEO results will vary on the monthly SEO package you sign up for, the competition of your targeted keywords, your web sites content and many other unforeseen variables.

Creating New Custom Content for Your Web Site

Some of our monthly SEO packages include having our professional copywriter create unique and custom content from scratch each and every month for your web site. A new page of content is typically between 500 to 750 words in length and rich in your targeted keywords and key-phrases.

You will have the opportunity to review the copy for accuracy and can make one (1) round of changes to it (additional rounds of edits may be extra).

Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Management Services

Our PPC management services are for managing your PPC campaigns only and do not include credits for any sponsored placement or ads. The cost-per-click depends on the keywords or key-phrases you have chosen to bid on. The effectiveness of PPC advertising depends on how frequently the keywords you have bid on are search, the cost per click for those keywords and the budget you have allotted. Our PPC management fees get added on to the monthly budget you have set. Because many popular keywords and key-phrases have become so competitive, PPC advertising may be the best and more realistic option for getting listed on major search engines quickly.
